SMS reminders.

For clients who rarely check email, SMS reminders add a direct text message channel to your reminder sequence. SMS reminders are available on select Fetcher plans.

Enabling SMS on a sequence step

Open a sequence from /dashboard/?v=sequences and click any step to expand it. Toggle Also send SMS to enable it for that step. When this option is active, Fetcher sends both the email and an SMS text message on the same day.

The SMS message

The SMS message is a short plain-text version of your reminder. It includes your firm name, a summary of what's still needed, and the upload link. You can customize the message body in the same step editor where you edit the email.

Client phone numbers

To send an SMS, Fetcher needs your client's mobile number. You can add a phone number to any request from the request detail view or at the time of creating the request. If no phone number is present, Fetcher sends the email-only version and logs a note that SMS was skipped.

SMS opt-in

The first SMS your client receives includes an opt-out instruction. Clients who reply STOP will not receive further SMS reminders from Fetcher. Their email reminders continue as normal. This complies with SMS regulatory requirements in most regions.

Checking SMS plan eligibility

SMS reminders are available on Pro and higher plans. If you're on the Solo plan, the SMS toggle will show a prompt to upgrade. Visit /dashboard/?v=billing to view your current plan and upgrade options.

Use SMS sparinglyEnable SMS on the most important steps only — typically a 3-days-before-deadline reminder, not every step in the sequence. Too many texts feel intrusive and can damage client trust.
