Form CP-01 · Client Portal
What your client sees.
Understanding what your client experiences helps you write better item names, set realistic deadlines, and have informed conversations when they have questions. Here is the full client-side walkthrough from invitation to complete.
The invitation email
Your client receives an email with your workspace name in the From field. The subject line includes the request name. The body shows your logo (if configured), a short message, and a list of the documents you need at a glance. A large button links to their upload portal.
The email is plain and focused — designed to be understood in seconds on a phone.
The upload portal
Clicking the button opens a dedicated upload page. Your logo and brand color appear at the top, making it look like your firm's own page. Below the branding, your client sees:
- A headline with the request name
- Your name or firm name as the requester
- An optional personal message if you added one
- The deadline date if you set one
- A checklist of every document item, organized with Required items first
Uploading a file
Each checklist item has an Upload button beside it. On desktop, clicking it opens a file browser or accepts a drag-and-drop. On mobile, it opens a camera/file picker. As soon as a file is selected and uploads successfully, the item shows a green checkmark and the file name is listed below it.
Your client can upload one file per item or multiple files if needed. They can also replace a previously uploaded file if they submitted the wrong version.
Progress and return visits
The upload portal shows a progress summary at the top — "3 of 5 items complete." If your client closes the browser and returns later using the same link, their progress is exactly where they left it. Completed items show their uploaded files; remaining items are ready to upload.
Completion
When all required items are uploaded, the portal shows a confirmation screen. You receive a notification. All pending reminders for that request are cancelled automatically.
